Microcephaly is one of the main features in individuals who are affected by one of their DYRK1A genes being disrupted. From medical journals at this time it appears to be approximately 95% have Microcephaly.

Other Causes of Microcephaly

There are many different causes of Microcephaly but the most common cause is different genetic abnormalities. Other causes include harmful exposures during fetal development that include drugs, chemicals, certain viral infections, etc. Lack of oxygen or other damage to the brain in the womb or in infancy can also cause Microcephaly.
